Biggest Business Challenge:
Toll Brothers has built an enviable reputation in its 37 years. But when we enter a new market, especially a smaller market like Reno, we can’t rely on name recognition alone. Whether we’re building relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers or hiring employees, we’re the new builder in town and have to introduce the industry to our way of doing business.
What do you like best about your job?
Every day I play a role in the construction and delivery of beautiful homes to satisfied buyers. I also enjoy the diversity my position with Toll Brothers offers. As the senior project manager, I oversee everything from purchasing and land acquisition/development, to marketing and sales, from quality assurance to architectural design review. That’s just to name a few.
How do you spend your time when you’re not working?
Playing golf, attending University of Nevada, Reno sporting events and traveling.
Favorite Business Book :
Anything written by Lee Iacocca.
Best Business Advice :
Stay true to your word; that’s the only way to earn the trust and respect of your team and your customers.
What would you like your legacy to be?
That I have been true and honest in both my personal and professional life. Also, that I’ve had a successful career doing something I love – building homes.
You have recently returned to Reno after spending several years in California. What did you miss most while you were away?
My family and friends. Summer thunderstorms and cool summer nights. It rarely rained in the four years I was in Palm Springs.
